Testimonials

  • "This is home. I am very comfortable and I like my apartment. We have lots to eat and I enjoy the menus and calendars. I don't have to worry about driving, they will take me anywhere in town. It is nice and clean here and people are real friendly."

    —Tenant Carrie G.

  • "I have lived here for 4 ½ years. The help all try very hard to accommodate all the tenants' needs and wishes. The staff make it a home and they bend over backwards to make me happy."

    —Tenant, Bob R.

  • "We are well satisfied with our home. We love having our laundry done for us and our meals prepared. They offer us lots of trips to different places and there is always something going on if we choose to take part. We never have to ask for something twice, the staff takes great care of us."

Dare to Dream

Arlington Place of Oelwein ~ Dare to Dream

Tenant, Iva Martindale loves to tell stories of making her famous rosettes for special events for her family and friends. However, due to the energy it took her, she has been unable to make them for many years.

The staff of Arlington Place came together to make a dream come true for Iva.  On August 4, 2011, staff and tenants were honored to have Iva demonstrate how she makes her special rosettes.

With a beaming smile, Iva explains rosettes are a Norwegian pastry traditionally made during Christmas time.  Iva continued to tell stories of her Norwegian background and how her grandmother taught her how to make rosettes.  Iva stated she would make rosettes special when her son was serving overseas, something from home, she remembers.

The special iron used in the making of rosettes was given to Iva from her grandmother.
On August 6, 2011, Arlington Place held an Open House in Iva’s honor.  She was able to share her delightful rosettes with her family, friends, and neighbors.
